Meet the Artist

KIRK FRYE

Kirk Frye was born and raised in the East Bay. He spent his childhood exploring the hills and flats of Berkeley, Oakland, and Kensington. His art is inspired by the unique natural environment he grew up surrounded by -- California live oaks, coastal redwoods, and many other native species feature prominently in his work. 

Now Kirk lives in Kensington. You can find him in his garage studio bending and shaping wood, going out to forage for mushrooms and other wild foods in the East Bay hills, or studying the history of mines and waterworks.
